Krystyna Sadej was born in Poland and emigrated to Canada in 1989. She now lives and creates art in Navan, Ontario. A tapestry and mixed-media artist, Krystyna focuses primarily on fibre arts. By mixing various traditional methods, she transforms flat surfaces into three-dimensional masterpieces. Among her professional accomplishments are many group and solo exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Asia, Poland and other European countries. Her work is found in collections around the world.

“My tapestries reflect my life in Canada, as well as nostalgia for Poland and family and friends left behind. I am fascinated with experimenting and searching for new and abstract ways to share expression through fine art and tapestry. I am interested in colour, form and space rather than creating realistic images. With my latest mixed media work, I hope to bring attention to the need to protect the environment and increase self-consciousness regarding our responsibility for environmental waste. “
